Nobody was meant to follow Jesus alone. Whether you've walked with Him for decades or you're still deciding what you believe, Scripture opens up differently when you read it alongside people asking honest questions.

Adult Bible Classes meet Sunday mornings at 9:00, before the worship service. Each class spends about twelve weeks in one book of the Bible or one area of the Christian life, slow enough to really wrestle with the text and with what it means for your Monday. Along the way, the people around the table become more than classmates.

New believers and longtime students of the Word sit side by side, and questions are welcome here. Find a class and pull up a chair.

Understanding the Building Blocks of the Bible

We believe the Bible here at First Free. But have you ever thought about why we believe the Bible? Of course the simple answer is that the Bible is God's Word -- and that's true. But if someone asked what you mean by that, what would you say? Join Pastor Don McLean in the Back to Bible Basics class and explore the doctrine of Scripture. We will be learning about the essential building blocks of this doctrine, including the revelation, inspiration, authority, and inerrancy of Scripture. We will also cover the canon of Scripture and principles of interpretation. If there is time at the end of the quarter, we will apply these principles to some specific Bible passages that can be difficult to understand.

From Unity to Division

The Heart of God's People from 1 Samuel - 1 Kings

Join Elaine Ferris as we continue our chronological study of Scripture that helps us understand the redemptive story of the Bible—God's plan to rescue His people through His Son, Jesus Christ. In From Unity to Division, we will learn from 1 Samuel through 1 Kings. We will see how King Saul, King David, and King Solomon experienced both the division sin brings and the unity forgiveness offers. In this chapter of the Bible's story, we see that though we could never earn it, God's grace freely offers redemption and renewal.

We know walking into something new can feel intimidating. Here are answers to questions we hear most often. We want you to feel completely comfortable joining us.

Do I need to be a member of the church to participate?

Not at all! Our Adult Bible Classes are open to anyone. Whether you're a longtime church member, new to our church, or just checking things out. We welcome people at every stage of their faith journey.

What if I don't know anyone?

You're not alone. Our classes are welcoming and make a point of including newcomers. Within a few weeks, you'll start seeing familiar faces. We've all been new before, and we know what that's like.

Do I need to know the Bible well to join a Bible study?

Absolutely not. Our classes welcome people at all levels. From those just cracking open a Bible for the first time to those who've been studying Scripture for decades. Questions are valued and no one's expected to have all the answers. We're all learning together.

What's the time commitment?

Each study runs for 12 weeks and meets on Sunday mornings. Life is busy; we get it. Come when you can, and know there's grace for the times you need to miss. Whether you make every class or join when you're able, you're always welcome.

Can I join mid-quarter?

Yes! While starting at the beginning of a study is ideal, you're welcome to jump in at any point. We'll help you get caught up and feel right at home.
