We were presented with
some special gifts at our Family Night Program back in March. The
families of our Monday-Wednesday-Friday classes took up a collection
to purchase supplies to build two wooden benches and a balance beam
for our playground. Each bench has a brass plaque on it that
reads, ―In
Appreciation to Shepherds Fold Preschool―Class of 2010.
The sturdy benches and fun balance
beam were built by Gary Pinger and Mark Gratton. Gary is the
grandfather of two of our students, Olivia Gratton and Abby Ventris.
Mark is Olivia’s father and Abby’s uncle. Many children will be able
to enjoy these new additions to our playground through the years. The
teachers also each received a beautiful vase of fresh flowers
during the presentation. Thank you to all who were involved in this
wonderful surprise!
You may have noticed a new
doorbell on the wall outside, labeled "Preschool". Glenn Rogerson
and Charly Gustafson worked very hard to install this additional
doorbell that rings in our classroom, in the gym, and in the hallway
near the downstairs restrooms. There is an intercom at each location
as well. Glenn and Charly also installed a program on our computer
that allows us to access the camera system in order to view the
entrance. We can see who is there before using the door release button
to unlock the door from downstairs. This was done in order to allow us
to admit parents into the building when the Church Office is closed,
or Staff is away from their desks. Thank you, Glenn & Charly!
On Wednesday, May 12th,
we are taking the children to the Bettendorf Family Museum. We
will have our annual Graduation program and reception on
Friday, May 28th. Please tell
your family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers about Shepherd’s Fold
Preschool. We are now enrolling children for the 2010-2011 school
year, which will begin in September. For more information call the
Preschool at 764-2191.
